How I got started on this path
I am an endurance coach based in Sussex, UK, with over 20 years of experience specializing in running performance across road, trail, and long-distance events. As an England Athletics Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF), I guide athletes to train purposefully, manage fatigue efficiently, and race with confidence. Every athlete is unique, and I am passionate about discovering the optimal balance between aerobic and anaerobic fitness to unlock their full potential.
My perspective is shaped by a lifetime in endurance sport, from competing internationally in cycling for Wales and Great Britain, to working in elite competition environments including Commonwealth Games trackside support roles. That background informs how I approach preparation, recovery, and performance under pressure.
I use TrainingPeaks and WKO5 to analyse fitness, fatigue, efficiency, and power‑duration profiles, translating complex data into clear, practical insight. My coaching is evidence‑led and focused on helping athletes understand their training so they can perform at their best when it matters.
