FAQ

A GPS watch is helpful for runners, and a power meter is ideal for cyclists, but neither is essential to begin. I can build effective training using whatever tools you currently have, and we can evolve your setup over time if needed.

Note: Power Duration Curve or phenotyping cannot be made without the Power metric.

I coach runners and cyclists across Sussex and beyond, from athletes chasing their first structured plan to those targeting competitive results. Whether you’re aiming for a 10k PB, a faster marathon, a cycling time trial, a road‑race breakthrough or long‑course endurance events, I build training that matches your goals, physiology and experience.

Yes. Many athletes start with limited structure or confidence. My coaching approach focuses on clarity, progression and long‑term development, helping beginners build strong foundations while giving experienced athletes the precision and insight needed to reach new performance levels.

Personalised coaching means your training isn’t a template or a one‑size‑fits‑all plan. I analyse your physiology, training history, strengths, limiters and lifestyle demands, then build a programme that adapts weekly. This ensures every session has purpose and moves you toward your best race without unnecessary fatigue or guesswork.

Yes. All coaching is delivered remotely using TrainingPeaks, allowing you to train anywhere while still receiving structured guidance, analysis and feedback. Online coaching gives you flexibility while maintaining the same level of detail and support as in‑person coaching.

I use TrainingPeaks and WKO5 along with evidence‑based endurance metrics to assess:
• training load
• fatigue and recovery
• durability
• pacing and power trends
• long‑term development
This data‑led approach ensures decisions are grounded in physiology, not guesswork.

Your plan is reviewed and adjusted weekly. This allows training to respond to your progress, fatigue, readiness and life demands. You’ll never be stuck following a rigid plan that no longer fits your needs.

Absolutely. Most athletes I coach balance work, family and training. I design sessions that fit your available time while still moving you toward your goals. Consistency matters more than volume, and I help you get the most from the time you have.

I specialise in mid‑ to long‑distance endurance events, including:
• 10k
• Half marathon
• Marathon
• Cycling time trials
• Road races
• Criteriums
• Long‑course cycling events
My background in both running and cycling allows me to coach single‑sport and multi‑discipline athletes effectively.

If you want structure, clarity and a more purposeful approach to training, coaching will help. Whether you’re stuck in a plateau, preparing for a specific event or simply want to train smarter, personalised coaching provides direction and accountability that generic plans can’t match.

Generic plans assume every athlete responds the same way. Personalised coaching adapts to your physiology, training history, strengths, limiters and lifestyle. It evolves with you, ensuring you’re always training at the right intensity, with the right focus, at the right time.

I offer ongoing coaching built around long‑term development. If you’re unsure whether coaching is right for you, you can book a consultation to discuss your goals and training needs before committing.
